TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
in Artistic Master Courses

§1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. The Organiser of Artistic Master Courses (hereinafter referred to as „the Courses”) is the Polish Foundation for Culture and Development (hereinafter referred to as „the Organiser”).

2. The Classes shall be held from 24 to 31 July 2022 in Tarnów.

3. The Artistic Master Courses shall include the following:
a) A music course for students of secondary music schools, students of music colleges and university graduates under 30 years of age (hereinafter referred to as the „Participant”) and other persons interested in taking part in a passive way (hereinafter referred to as „Passive Participant”).
Participation of students of first-level music schools representing a very high level of playing an instrument shall be allowed / eligibility for the Courses shall be decided by the Commission on the basis of the submitted materials concerning the Participant’s achievements and the available recording (item 16).
b) Visual arts course for students of secondary schools of fine arts, students of colleges of fine arts and adults aged up to 30 wishing to broaden their artistic skills.

Additional activities
for all participants of music and art courses

The course will include collective panels

  • basics of marketing and PR,
  • fundraising for artists and self-management.
  • Yoga for artists „The art of concentration – the art of relaxation” – each participant should have his/her own yoga mat
  • psychology of success; lecture and exercises

§2. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

1. FEES FOR PARTICIPANTS IN MUSIC COURSES

Solo instrumentalism:
active participant – 1400 zł
passive participant – 600 zł

Chamber music:
Participant – 1100 zł

Active participant of Music Courses within the fee of PLN 1400 will be guaranteed with:

Solo instrumentalism:
  • 5 individual lessons of 45 minutes each with a chosen professor,
  • possibility to work with an accompanist,
  • chamber music class (for interested students),
  • free entry to masterclasses performed by professors conducting instrumental masterclasses within the Courses,
  • free entry to all artistic events organised as part of the Courses,
  • free entrance to selected cultural institutions in Tarnów,
  • performance during at least one concert given by participants, max. two recitals,
  • practice rooms,
  • group panels on marketing and PR basics and self-management.
  • fundraising for artists,
  • yoga for artists „The art of concentration – the art of relaxation” – each participant should have his/her own yoga mat
  • psychology of success classes.

Active participants of the Solo Instrumentalist courses also have the opportunity to take part in chamber music classes.

Please indicate in your application whether you wish to take part in these classes or whether you wish to be assigned to the course ensemble by the tutors.

Chamber music:
  • 5 chamber music/ensemble classes,
  • free entry to masterclasses performed by professors conducting instrumental masterclasses within the courses,
  • free entry to all artistic events organised as part of the Courses,
  • free entrance to selected cultural institutions in Tarnów,
  • performance during at least one concert given by participants, max. two recitals,
  • practice rooms,
  • group panels on marketing and PR basics and self-management.
  • fundraising for artists,
  • yoga for artists The Art of Concentration – The Art of Relaxation / each participant should have his/her own yoga mat
  • psychology of success classes.

Assignment to the ensembles as well as repertoire and music material will be sent to the participants at least 2 weeks before the beginning of the courses, so that every participant has time to prepare his/her part.

Passive participant of music courses / observer
within the fee of PLN 600 is guaranteed with:
  • free admission to masterclasses performed by professors conducting instrumental masterclasses as part of the Courses,
  • observation of all solo and chamber instrumental lessons,
  • free entry to all artistic events organised as part of the Courses,
  • free entry to selected cultural institutions in Tarnów,
  • group panels on marketing and PR basics and self-management.
  • fundraising for artists,
  • yoga for artists – The Art of Concentration – The Art of Relaxation /each participant should have their own yoga mat/,
  • psychology of success classes.

FEES FOR PARTICIPANTS IN ART COURSES

Cost of participation: PLN 700

Availability of all materials needed for the course /Artbox/ PLN 189.

Participant of Artistic Courses
within the fee of PLN 700 is guaranteed with:
  • Art and visual arts classes from Monday to Friday 4 hours a day,
  • easels, paper pads, water dishes, models
  • free admission to masterclasses performed by professors conducting instrumental masterclasses as part of the Courses,
  • free entry to all artistic events organised as part of the Courses,
  • free entry to selected cultural institutions in Tarnów,
  • group panels on marketing and PR basics and self-management.

  • yoga for artists ” The Art of Concentration – The Art of Relaxation” – each participant should have his/her own yoga mat
  • psychology of success classes.
  1. The fees specified in point 1 do not include costs of accommodation and meals, which are borne by the Participants themselves.
  2. Each participant of the Art Courses shall bring his/her own materials, a list of which shall be given together with confirmation of acceptance of application or shall purchase a dedicated Artbox which shall contain all necessary materials for the time of the Course.
  3. Each active participant of the Music Courses should bring his/her own music notes, accompaniment notes, lectern and black concert outfit.
  4. Active Participants and Passive Participants under 18 years of age may participate in the Courses only when accompanied by an adult guardian, subject to point 7. The personal data of the guardian should be provided in the application form under „Additional information”.
  5. The guardian shall pay the fee of PLN 200 and shall be guaranteed: free entry to concerts and artistic events connected with the Classes, lectures and open classes.
  6. , lectures and open classes.
  7. Participants and Passive Participants under the age of 18 may participate in the Courses without a guardian only on condition that they have a statement to this effect signed by their parents / legal guardians. A scan of the statement shall be attached to the Application Form. The original shall be delivered on the first day of the Courses at the latest.
  8. Registration for Courses only through electronic application form between 24. April 2022 (12:00 p.m.) – 30. June 2022 (11:59 p.m.)

As part of your application you must submit:

a) A completed Application Form,
b) Artistic curriculum vitae with a list of achievements
c) optional – recording of one complete piece or a fragment of a piece up to 10 minutes long, reflecting the level of advancement of playing the instrument /applicants of Music Courses/, providing a link to YT

9.The Organiser will confirm by email receipt of the application by 10. July 2022

10.A participant applying as a complete chamber ensemble shall provide details of all members of the ensemble under „Additional information”.

11.Application for the Courses is not equivalent to admission to the Courses.

12.Participants and Passive Participants shall be notified by the Organiser about qualifying for the Courses by email until July 10, 2022.

13.Depending on the number of applications received, the Organiser may decide to extend the recruitment for the Courses, which will result in the extension of the deadline of the results’ announcement mentioned in point. 8.

14. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the Course if the number of participants is too low.

15. A formal condition for participation in the Courses is that the Participant fills in all the necessary fields in the application form, and provides the recording described in point 8c.

16.Participants shall be selected on the basis of the information contained in the application form.

17.Only applications meeting formal conditions shall be admitted to the commission’s deliberations.

18. The decision of the commission cannot be appealed.

19. The commission deciding about the qualification for the Courses and shall be composed of the following professors of the Courses: Agata Szymczewska, Janusz Wawrowski, Katarzyna Budnik, Mateusz Doniec, Bartosz Koziak, Szymon Marciniak, Aleksandra Czajor-Kowalska, Grażyna Zubik, Malwina Tkaczyk, Mateusz Mańka, Joanna Łukasik /Artistic Director.

20.The total cost of participation in the Classes shall be paid to the bank account specified in item 21

21.The total cost of participation in the Courses should be paid to the bank account specified in point 21 after receiving notification of acceptance to the Courses no later than 15th July 2022. The date of payment for the Courses shall be the date on which the Organiser’s bank account is debited.

The fee paid by the Participant or passive Participant for participation in the Courses may be reimbursed if the Participant or passive Participant fails to participate in the Courses due to particularly important, documented fortuitous reasons.

Participants of the Courses should be insured against medical costs and accidents on their own. He or she should also carry all necessary medication which he or she takes regularly.

§3. ORGANIZATIONAL PROVISIONS

1. Each participant of the Courses is guaranteed 5 lessons with a chosen educator (45 minutes each) according to a schedule determined by the Organiser. In addition, each Participant may rehearse with an accompanist. The rehearsal schedule will be agreed directly with the accompanist.

2.The participant shall be obliged to be punctual, follow the timetable of classes and take care of the Organiser’s property and property made available to the Organiser for the duration of the Courses by other entities.

3. Should a lesson be shortened or not take place for reasons lying on the part of the educator, the Participant shall be offered another date to provide the lesson in its entirety or an appropriate part of the lesson not completed (more than 10 minutes shortened).

4. Should the lesson be shortened or fail to take place for reasons not attributable to the Organiser, the Participant shall not be entitled to any claims.

5. The lessons and materials received during the lesson are informational and advisory in nature, based on an original programme prepared by an educator. The Organiser is not responsible for the content and course of the lessons, nor for the material content.

6.Each Participant registering as a viola player will have 2 lessons with Katarzyna Budnik and 3 lessons with Mateusz Doniec. If a Participant wants to have lessons with only one educator of his/her choice, he/she is asked to inform about it in the application form under „Additional information”.

7. The participation of Participants in concerts within the Courses shall be decided by the educator leading a given instrument/ chamber music class.

8.Participant may perform solo or with an accompanist during a recital. The frequency and duration of rehearsals for a concert with an accompanist shall be determined individually by the Participant and the accompanist.

9. The Organiser shall provide technical support for the concert and audience service.

10. The concerts and exhibitions and the Participants performing therein shall be actively promoted in all information channels of the Organiser and its Partners.

11. The Organiser does not take responsibility for the instruments of the Participants or their property.

§4. RECORDING OF PERFORMANCES

1.The Organiser shall have the right to record all classes, concerts and exhibitions during the Courses.

2. Participants registering for the Courses using the application form automatically consent to the recording of classes, concerts and exhibitions with their participation, including the use of their image and personal data.

3. The consent referred to in sect. 2 also constitutes consent to the gratuitous transfer of all proprietary copyrights to works developed by the Participant during the Courses and all related rights to artistic performances developed by the Participant during the Courses to the Organiser. The Organiser shall be entitled to receive works and artistic performances as soon as they have been established by the Participant.

4. The Organiser shall have the right to use the works and artistic performances determined in p. 3 in an unlimited period of time and with no limitations in terms of time and territory.

  • recording/registration of material on any audiovisual medium, in particular on video media, photosensitive tape, magnetic tape and computer disk,
  • multiplication by any technique, including video and audio cassettes, audiovisual discs, using celluloid, photosensitive and digital techniques, computer recording technique,
  • public performance and display (television, radio, multimedia, Internet, etc.)
  • broadcasting in whole or in excerpts by means of wire or wireless vision and sound, using any technique – regardless of the system, standard and format, including broadcasting by terrestrial stations and cable broadcasting
  • introduction into computer memory and into multimedia networks,
  • making the work available to the public in such a way that everyone can have access to it at a time and place chosen by themselves,
  • any use of the material in interactive services made available to viewers via the Internet and other data transmission techniques, including telecommunications, IT and wireless networks

5. Participants and carers are not allowed to record classes without the permission of the supervising teacher.
6. Participants or carers may record performances only with the consent of the performers.

§5. FINAL PROVISIONS

1. Any issues not covered by the Terms and Conditions shall be decided by the Organiser.

2. Registration for the Courses shall be deemed as acceptance for these Terms and Conditions.

3. In the case of non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions, the Organiser reserves the right to remove the Participant and Passive Participant from the Courses.

4. The Organiser reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions in writing.

5. The Terms and Conditions shall become effective as of the date of commencement of recruitment by the Organiser.

6. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the Courses in the event of force majeure. Force majeure means events beyond the control of the parties to the agreement, significantly affecting the possibility of organising the Courses, having exceptional and momentous character, such as in particular:

– legislation taking effect or issuance of orders by the relevant authorities, resulting in an order not to conduct ceremonies and cultural events,

– Acts of God, such as floods, fires, earthquakes, etc,

– acts of war or other operations of the armed forces and terrorist acts.
